Tell us how you think teams will get on at World Cup

You may have heard there is a big international football tournament taking place this summer. We have mentioned it in a few places. As (most of) the world’s leading countries and players descend on the United States, Canada and Mexico for the 2026 World Cup, we’ll be bringing you all the action and analysis, as we do throughout the football season — and one part of that will be predicting how each match will play out. We’ll have two writers, Andrew Jones and Elias Burke, bringing you daily predictions on each game — and they’ll be using the knowledge of our nation experts from all 48 countries to help make their calls… But this sport is all about opinions… So we also want to know what you, our subscribers, think. As shown by your success during this Premier League season in predicting results, you clearly know your stuff. For each day, we will be asking a subscriber to The Athletic to pick the results in each World Cup match. To add further friendly competition, we will also have picks from an algorithm-based predictive model. Each matchday will see a different subscriber invited to take part.
