Spektr-M space observatory to search for life signs in the Universe
MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Studies with the help of the Spektr-M space-based observatory will help in searching for signs of life in the Universe, a spokesperson for Lavochkin Research and Production Association told TASS. The search for life in the millimeter waveband, as part of the Spektr-M research program, will consist of two parameters - water traces and radiation from complex molecules and organic compounds in areas where stars and planetary systems are being formed. The prebiotic molecules are referred to in the second case. Such chemical compounds may serve as building blocks for more complex forms of organic chemistry, including for organic forms of life. Such molecules are not the direct evidence of life existence, yet show that conditions where life may potentially emerge exist in a specific space environment, the company said.المصدر: TASS | Source: TASS
