One killed, several injured in mass shooting in New Jersey

ALBAWABA- One person was killed and several others injured in a mass shooting at a Chick-fil-A outlet in Union Township, New Jersey, on Saturday evening, authorities said.

Emergency services responded shortly before 9 p.m. to reports of gunfire at the busy restaurant along Route 22. According to local officials and media reports, at least six people were shot. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while others were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation is ongoing, with no suspect identified and no arrests announced so far. Authorities have not confirmed a motive, though preliminary eyewitness accounts suggest the shooting may have followed an altercation inside or near the restaurant.

Police quickly secured the area, locking down the premises as heavily armed officers and emergency crews remained on site late into the night. Videos shared on social media showed scenes of panic, with customers and staff rushing to safety.

The company confirmed it is cooperating with law enforcement but has not issued a detailed statement.
