Moment gang of youths laugh while they destroy town centre flower bed

Published: 15:15, 28 July 2026 | Updated: 15:21, 28 July 2026 A gang of teenagers dressed in black tracksuits laughed as they destroyed a flower bed in a quiet town centre. Video footage captured the moment the youths began kicking the flowes at each other. The group of young men were spotted near the Gracechurch Shopping Centre in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham at around 12pm on Sunday July 26. Witnesses can be heard telling the youths to 'stop' as they continue to volley the orange and yellow flowers. Onlookers also claimed the group were attempting to smash the glass panels of a nearby bus stop and intimidate those waiting for one.   The thugs were reportedly then scolded by officers who were called to the scene, but continued their attack on the flower bed once police were out of sight.  Adam Kimber, 36, who recorded the video said: 'I was on a day out to the town centre when I saw a gang of six or seven boys trying to smash the glass panes of a nearby bus stop.' Onlookers watched in disgust as a group of youths destroyed a flowerbed in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham Onlookers also claimed the group were attempting to smash the glass panels of a nearby bus stop He added: 'But when that didn't work they took their aggression out on the flower bed. 'They also looked so happy doing it laughing to each other. 'They were kicking them for a couple of minutes when the police arrived and told them to stop. 'They scattered but as soon as they left they continued.' Adam - who is currently unemployed - said he was shocked by the boy's actions which he said 'lacked respect'. He said: 'I grew up being told to say "please" and "thank you" and to show respect. 'You wouldn't dare doing something like this. 'If you did you would get a clip on the ear. 'It is only the first few weeks of the summer holidays, who knows how much worse it is going to get. 'These kids clearly have no respect or morals for anything.' West Midlands Police and Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield Town Council have been approached for a comment.
