The Glasgow-born broadcaster, who has been a fixture on the station's Breakfast Show for over a quarter of a century, had been noticeably absent from his regular presenting duties for several weeks.
Brazil, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career at clubs including Ipswich Town, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, took to X to update concerned listeners about his health situation.
The popular host confirmed he had undergone a major medical procedure and expressed his gratitude to those who treated him.

"I recently had a life-saving operation and I'm deeply grateful to the brilliant medical team who have looked after me."
The veteran broadcaster indicated his return to the airwaves would not be immediate.

During Brazil's absence from the airwaves, Agbonlahor and Shebahn Aherne have been filling in on his regular Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning slots.
