NEW DELHI: Govt has asked the US Trade Representative (USTR) to reconsider its proposal to impose 12.5% additional tariff on Indian products for allegedly failing to act against forced labour, arguing that the move does not meet legal standards, lacks country-specific analysis and fails to establish causal link between absence of import prohibitions and its impact of US business.
