Published: 03:05, 22 May 2026 | Updated: 03:28, 22 May 2026 A woman who left two swimmers with horrific injuries after running them over while drunk‑driving a speedboat has been jailed. Michelle Lohf, 44, was jailed for two years and eight months after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated causing serious harm by dangerous driving. She pled not guilty to one count of leaving the accident scene after causing serious harm and was due to face a second trial, but the charge was withdrawn in January.  Lohf was arrested after emergency services were called to the River Murray in Mannum, about 85km east of Adelaide, just before 7pm on January 26, 2025.  Police and paramedics were told two people had been struck by a boat, with CCTV footage from a riverside home capturing the moment of impact. Video taken by one of the three women who joined Lohf on the speed boat for the doomed river cruise showed the terrifying moments before and after the collision.  'Amy, Amy, f***, Amy,' one of the women is heard shrieking.  'You just hit someone I think. I think you just hit someone in the water.' Michelle Lohf, 44, was jailed for two years and eight months after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated causing serious harm by dangerous driving Police and paramedics were told two people had been struck by a boat, with CCTV footage from a riverside home capturing the moment of impact (pictured) Moments before the crash, a man referred to as Peter by Lohf, tells her to watch out for swans and jet-skis.  'I'll be fine. I got this Peter-bear,' she is heard telling him. The court heard Lohf had drank four bottles of champagne with three friends prior to getting behind the wheel of the speed boat. She had an estimated blood alcohol reading of 0.17 at the time of the collision. One of the victims, a young woman, told the court she'd been forced to undergo 13 surgeries after being 'torn to shreds.' 'I still had no idea that I had been cut by the propeller – it wasn’t until I felt a flap of skin from my torso touch my arm that I realised. What (my cousin) thought was my pink life jacket underneath me was actually my gaping flesh floating in the water around me,' she said. She sustained internal lacerations, fractures to her spine, pelvis and rib, had her spleen completely removed, and experienced nerve damage in her spine. The woman requires at least two more surgeries to help her recovery.  No comments have so far been submitted.
