Around 2,000 ravers descended on a field at East Lulworth, Dorset, for an illegal rave which saw local residents complain of being kept awake by thumping drum and bass music throughout the night on Saturday, April 4. Officers in riot gear were called to the unauthorised event, which carried on throughout Sunday, April 5, before the organiser's music equipment was seized. However, they were met by a 'violent and hostile' crowd with a number of officers assaulted and objects such as bottles thrown at them. The force have now released photos of six people, one woman and five men, who they claim were part of the group of ravers. Eleven people were arrested at the scene for a variety of offences including violent disorder, assaulting an emergency worker and possessing class A drugs. A man aged in his 30s from Bedfordshire was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and possessing a class A drug. He remains on police bail. Three further men – a man aged in his 20s from Bridgewater, a man aged in his 20s from Pembrokeshire and a man aged in his 30s from Poole – were arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and also remain on police bail. Detective Chief Inspector George Graham, of Dorset County CID, said: 'We have been conducting a thorough investigation of the incident that unfolded as police attended the unauthorised music event at East Lulworth and this has involved carefully examining a substantial amount of footage from the day. 'We are now in a position to release images of six individuals we would like to identify in connection with this matter and I would urge anyone who recognises them to please make contact with us. 'We take reports of assaults on our officers very seriously and will explore all available lines of enquiry to ensure those who are reportedly involved are identified and held to account.'
