Woman killed, dozens hurt after Target semi truck crosses California freeway divider

By WILKO MARTÍNEZ-CACHERO, US REPORTER Published: 20:10, 20 June 2026 | Updated: 20:29, 20 June 2026 A California woman died and dozens were injured after a Target semi-truck plowed through the center divider of a freeway and caused a massive crash.  The accident happened around 8.55am local time on the 210 Freeway in Irwindale, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, according to KTLA citing the California Highway Patrol (CHP). In addition to the woman who died, at least 25 others were injured in the accident. Three of those people were reported to be in critical condition, according to the CHP. The woman was declared dead at the scene, though her identity will not be released until next of kin are notified. CHP traffic logs said the Target semi had crossed from the eastbound side of the freeway into the westbound lanes after crashing through the center barrier, according to the outlet. The truck then went across several westbound lanes and hit several vehicles. Photos of the accident on the Citizen app showed the semi crossed across the freeway, with Bullseye, Target's fictional bull terrier mascot, visible on the vehicle's side and back, and police cars in the background. The crash involving the Target semi-truck happened shortly before 9am in Irwindale, roughly 20 miles east of Los Angeles One woman was died at the scene, while at least 25 people suffered injuries as a result of the accident The Los Angeles County Fire Department said on X that eight people with minor injuries had been taken in for treatment.  Six of those people were described by authorities as minors.  Meanwhile, 22 others with minor injuries declined transport, the LA County Fire Department added.  The westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway were closed after the crash 'for an unknown duration,' the CHP said on X. The carpool and two left lanes of the eastbound side were also blocked off.  The Daily Mail has reached out to Target for comment.  This is a breaking news story.
