Woman charged with possessing child abuse material after an incident at a printing business

Police allege the 36-year-old, from Wamboin in the NSW Southern Tablelands, visited a Belconnen photo printing service on Wednesday to print a number of digital images. As she tried to print the images, it was found that the machine had malfunctioned, so she was refunded her payment and left the store. Soon after, staff at the store, who were checking the malfunctioned machine, allegedly recognised multiple child exploitation images that had failed to print. They contacted ACT Police, who investigated. On Friday afternoon, police pulled over a vehicle in Holt and arrested the woman.  She was charged with one count of aggravated possession of child exploitation material and was expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Saturday. Police said investigations were ongoing to discover the origin of the images and whether any additional offences were committed. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.
