A café worker has been left injured after an unprovoked, savage attack by a stranger left her stunned and with a chipped tooth. The young woman was juggling multiple plates of food when she rounded a corner to serve a table of al fresco diners when a woman, who nearly walked into the waitress, attacked. She was seen batting the plate upward and into the waitress' face, before smashing her hand back down again to send someone's brunch flying on Saturday (April 25). The whole incident was caught on CCTV cameras, with irate bosses of La Vallee café in Melbourne, Australia , taking to social media in the hope of identifying the brutal assailant. The café, in Essendon, North Melbourne in Australia, said the plate hitting their poor waitress' face left her stunned, reeling, and with a chipped tooth. Sharing the footage online, the Essendon café wrote: "We are beyond shocked at the abhorrent behaviour of this grown woman. If you know her, please send us a private message - we need assistance in identifying this individual. "This incident led to one of our beautiful staff members CHIPPING THEIR TOOTH from the plate she pushed into her face. "We love being part of the community in Essendon, and we hope our followers can share, tag and suggest this to local friends so we can get some justice AND hold this person accountable." The café then called for anyone with knowledge of the person behind the attack to slide into their DMs. The cruel woman with lightning quick reflexes is yet to be identified, so no charges have been laid in connection with the brazen assault. The social media footage has since gone viral, with more than 55,000 people liking and commenting in the hopes of identifying the face-smashing mystery woman. One person wrote: “Hope your staff member is okay and hope the woman is caught.” Another added: “Why did no one stop her? Enough just standing by and watching.” A third said: "People keep discussing how rude it is. It’s not rude, it’s an assault, a literal crime. Please, please report this to the police." High-profile Melbourne businessman Adrian Portelli also piped up, condemning the woman's savage move: “This behaviour needs to be stamped out. It doesn't belong here.” Several others tagged Australia's Victoria Police to alert them to the assault. Despite a moment of horror in their community, the people of Essendon and, in a broader context, north Melbourne have rallied around the young woman attacked. Several business owners along the busy Keilor Road precinct expressed their disgust, vowing to check their own CCTV cameras in hopes of identifying the woman. Other local businesses offered to gift the waitress with free self-defence lessons to help her feel safe again, kinesiology sessions to help balance her nervous system and to release stress, and even steaks on the house once her tooth is fixed. Probably the kindest offer, however, was a nearby dentist who offered to fix her tooth at no cost. They said: “This is disgusting behaviour… I am more than happy to fix your staff member’s front tooth.” Nearby restaurant Sear Steakhouse offered up a meal and a whole plateful of kindness. “Keilor Road will stand together,” the business said. Other commenters from overseas piped up, not to help but to express their joy to see a community rally around those who need it. One said: "Canadian here so I clearly have nothing of value to add, but ill say how beautiful it is to see your community coming together for this waitress!" A second added: "You’ve reached Ireland! I hope that witch is found and your staff gets looked after." While a third said: "That’s it. I’m packing my bags and moving to Melbourne. This comment section is the best!" One person claiming to be the waitress' housemate piped up with an update on the waitress' condition. "She’s my roommate and one of my best friends," the commenter wrote, adding: "She called me right after the accident. She was so shocked and scared about everything : the dentist, the cost, work… I was feeling so bad for her, and I [feel for her] still." The housemate went on to praise La Vallee for taking care of her bestie in the wake of the shock attack.
