WNBA expansion draft winners and losers: Portland's depth, Toronto's future scoring

The 2026 WNBA offseason is finally underway, and the first step was completed Friday with the expansion draft for the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo. Both teams selected 11 players as they begin to build out their rosters for the upcoming season.The college draft remains and free agency after that, so much work remains to be done before the Fire and Tempo open training camp. The rosters could look very different in two weeks’ time, but it’s likely that Friday’s selections will form the bulk of the two rosters.
