Wholesome-looking Midwest teacher, 21, had bright future... until she preyed on boy, 14, by sending him daily naked photos and horrifying sexts

For she was a woman far more blessed than many, whose disgraceful behavior towards a 14-year-old boy she was teaching brought about her ruination. Carter, of South Dearborn in Indiana, recently pleaded guilty to sexually targeting the youngster after sending him a naked photo of herself every time she took a shower. The 24-year-old was jailed for two years in June over the incidents that took place when she was 21.  And while tales of female teachers abusing schoolboys have become disturbingly common, there was nothing in Carter's past to suggest she'd end up among their number.  Carter was raised in a comfortable $300,000 home in rural Indiana by her mother Emily, 43 and her 42-year-old father Clayton alongside her three younger sisters. Cassidy Carter had a great childhood with loving parents - but blew up her life after grooming a 14-year-old boy at the school where she was working  Carter is pictured second from right with her parents and siblings on a family day out  The couple have been happily married since 2006 and clearly adore their children, with academic, sporting and social achievements all celebrated proudly on social media. Carter regularly featured in her father's posts, with Clayton's pride in his eldest daughter clear to see.   Clayton works hard as a tree surgeon and frequently treats his daughters to lavish vacations, with trips to the West Coast, Walt Disney World and a cruise among them.  But the family's prosperous and contented Midwestern life suffered a hammer blow when Carter took up a substitute teaching job at her alma mater, South Dearborn Middle School in September 2023.  Carter was a star student during her time at the school, even winning an award for an acapella performance while there, with the prize covered by a local news outlet.  The young teacher found her name in the headlines for far more disturbing reasons in November 2023, when she began making online sexual advances towards her underage student.  Your browser does not support iframes. Carter, who left her job the same month and who was arrested in early 2024, bombarded the boy with inappropriate texts and images sent through Snap.   According to a probable cause affidavit seen by the Daily Mail, she even told the child: 'God I want you...so bad'. The full message is too graphic to reproduce. A criminal complaint said that the boy had told a school resource officer about what was going on, who then informed the school principal of Carter's behavior.  Court papers said that the boy was questioned by investigators where he said that Carter was a substitute teacher for his eighth grade class at the school. He told investigators that the two became friends on Snapchat at the start of November 2023. According to the boy, Carter told him that she was in love with him and would send nude images of herself to him over the social media platform, the criminal complaint reads.  Carter is pictured in her mugshot, a far cry from the bright-eyed, smiling woman beloved by her family and friends   He also said that she wanted to have sex with him, despite his age, and that the first image she shared with the boy was a nude image of herself taken in a mirror.  According to the teen, every time Carter would take a shower she would send explicit shots of herself to him. Her phone was seized and analyzed by investigators which confirmed what the boy was saying.  In May Carter was sentenced to two years in jail for one count of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury.  According to court papers obtained by the Daily Mail, the felony charge of child solicitation for sexual intercourse was dismissed.  South Dearborn Middle School, where Carter worked and went to school is pictured here  Carter pled guilty to the single charge, which court papers described as a negotiated plea agreement. The Daily Mail has contacted the Dearborn County Prosecutors Office for comment on why that charge was dropped. Carter will still be a young woman when she is freed from jail, but now faces a lifetime of potential stigma and gossip because of her crime.  Her family stood by her in the wake of the allegations, treating her to a night at a Taylor Swift concert in Indianapolis last year. Relations seem to have cooled over the last year though.  Clayton regularly posts photos of himself and Emily enjoying time with their other daughters  - but with no sign of Carter, or mention of her infamy.  It remains to be seen whether Cassidy Carter will ever get to enjoy such an outing again.
