There’s no time to rest as Formula 1 heads straight into Round 11 at the Hungarian Grand Prix – and here are all the details you need to know about the global start times for Sunday’s race and where to watch. Kimi Antonelli will be targeting back-to-back wins after beating Charles Leclerc to victory in Belgium, which ended a run of bad luck for the Italian and resulted in his Drivers' standings lead increasing to 45 points over Lewis Hamilton. A notable omission from the Spa-Francorchamps success stories was the second Mercedes of George Russell, who retired on the opening lap of the race following contact with Hamilton. He will be hoping to recover from yet another setback, but could face tough competition as McLaren are set to introduce significant upgrades in Hungary. The Hungarian Grand Prix will follow the non-Sprint format of three hours of practice, starting with FP1 at 1330 local time on Friday, July 24 before FP2 begins at 1700. Saturday, July 25 will see FP3 get underway at 1230, with the Qualifying hour starting at 1600. The race itself will then take place from 1500 on Sunday, July 26. The formidable Hungaroring will host this season’s Hungarian Grand Prix, marking 40 years since the first edition of the race at the twisty circuit. Originally built over a short nine months, its layout is similar to a karting track due to the relative lack of straights, and has sometimes been described as Monaco without the walls. It’s tricky – but not impossible – to overtake, and the venue has seen a number of memorable moments over the decades. From Nigel Mansell’s charge from 12th on the grid in 1989, to Fernando Alonso’s 2021 defensive masterclass against Hamilton to seal a maiden win for Esteban Ocon, the Hungaroring has more than earned its place on the calendar. Last season saw a thrilling battle between McLaren team mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, with the Briton ultimately triumphing by less than a second over the line. Ferrari’s Hamilton will be eager to get involved this time around – it’s one of the tracks he performs best at, having won there on eight occasions. Hungarian Grands Prix of previous years have often seen drivers tackle the dusty circuit in hot weather, and this season is expected to be no different. Conditions are currently forecast to reach as high as 30 Celsius, with a low likelihood of rain. Both support series are back after their eventful rounds in Belgium, which saw F2’s Rafael Camara take his second victory of the season with a mature drive to beat Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Nikola Tsolov. The latter, who has been touted as “next in line” for a promotion to Racing Bulls, still leads the standings and will be aiming to return to the top step in Hungary. The F2 action will begin with Free Practice at 1105 local time on Friday, July 24, followed by Qualifying later that day at 1605. Saturday, July 25 will see the Sprint Race take place at 1415, before the lights go out for the Feature Race at 1125 on Sunday, July 26. The competition is heating up in F3 too, as Freddie Slater finished on the podium behind Feature Race winner Ernesto Rivera and Hiyu Yamakoshi in Belgium, bringing the Audi junior driver to within one point of Ugo Ugochukwu in the standings. They will first head out on track for Free Practice at 0955 local time on Friday, July 24, with Qualifying next up at 1500. The top 12 finishers will then be reversed for the Sprint Race at 1005 on Saturday, July 25, and the weekend will conclude with the Feature Race on Sunday, July 26 at 0840.
