Zia Yusuf has launched a furious tirade on telecommunications company Vodafone after handing out thousands of free sim cards to illegal migrants.

Speaking to GB News, the Reform UK Home Affairs spokesman declared the party will be "relentless at hunting down anybody who aids and abets illegal entry into this country" if they come in power at the next General Election.

It has been revealed that Vodafone handed out 2,500 sim cards to a refugee charity for use by migrants who crossed the English Channel on small boats.

In their annual report, Care4Calais said the free sim cards were distributed to migrants being housed at the Wethersfield migrant camp in Essex.

The Vodafone sim cards were allegedly supplied through an initiative called Charities Connected, designed to help people suffering from "digital exclusion" and would benefit from six months of free data, calls and texts.

Criticising the company, Mr Yusuf detailed plans to implement Polanski's Law, which would "hold directors personally liable for aiding and abetting the invasion of Britain".

He fumed: "I think the British people are rightly outraged that a company of the size and scale of Vodafone is handing out sim cards to military aged men who they know are breaking into Britain. That is precisely what Vodafone have been doing.

"That is aiding and abetting illegal entry to Britain, that is putting British women and girls in danger. We know British women and girls have been raped sadly on all too regular occurrence by illegal migrants."

Having written to the Chief Executive of Vodafone and the entire board of directors, Mr Yusuf made clear that a Reform Government would make "aiding and abetting illegal entry into the UK a strict liability offence".

He explained: "What that means is a prosecutor does not have to prove intent. They will only have to prove that the that the actions actually happened anywhere inside the organisation, and the result of which, if Vodafone did this thing under a Reform Government, the whole board of directors would go to jail.

"We're not yet in Government, so what I'm also telling them is that unless they cancel those sim cards and assure the British public they will no longer take part in this outrageous act of aiding and abetting the invasion of this country, then a Reform Government will immediately review all of Vodafone's public contracts, of which there are many."

The Reform spokesman also warned that if he was to become Home Secretary, he would take action against all foreign nationals on the board of directors at Vodafone.

He told GB News: "I'm also more than willing as Home Secretary, under the Immigration Act 1971, all of the foreign nationals on the board of Vodafone, of which there are several, would have their visas revoked.

"They wouldn't be unable to enter the United Kingdom. The era of these gilded elites, operating by their own rules and virtue signalling, at the cost and the misery of hard working British families will soon be over."

Mr Yusuf encouraged GB News viewers who are Vodafone customers to "reconsider" continuing their custom with such an "outrageous" company.

He concluded: "It's an outrageous thing for any company to do, let alone a company the size of Vodafone. I'd encourage, frankly, all of your viewers who currently are customers of Vodafone, given that Vodafone are doubling down, perhaps reconsider whether you want to be a customer in funding this sort of nonsense.

"But I'm afraid the board of directors are directly responsible and they will be held accountable by a Reform Government for their actions."

A Vodafone spokesman said: "VodafoneThree’s programme provides mobile sims to registered UK charities – against strict programme criteria – for distribution to vulnerable people in the UK.

"Participating charities, regulated by the Charity Commission, distribute the six months connectivity to those they identify as being in need. All calls, texts and data are for UK use only."

A Care4Calais spokesman said: "Care4Calais does not hand out sim cards in France, as his recent spate of social media posts have suggested.

"We access sim cards through a charitable scheme, and distribute them to people claiming asylum in the UK who need phones to keep in contact with family and friends, and access support."
