Speaking to GB News, Mr Hanrahan told Nana Akua: "When you have a country built on hypocrisy and lies, it's a very damaged place and damaged people will strike out and react very badly.
"Does it mean they've all become terrible racist people overnight? No, no.
"Most of them probably sit and watch Man United playing football. Most of them probably listen to black stories at all. Do you know what I mean? This is not this is not who they really are."
