WATCH: GB News's Marcus Donaldson details Labour crackdown on 'abuse' of student visas

GB News Digital Reporter Marcus Donaldson discusses his exclusive interview with Migration Minister Mike Tapp, in which he revealed what the Labour Government is doing to crack down on migrants exploiting the student visa system.

Detailing the plans, Marcus said: "As we know, universities and institutions across this country take a huge amount of money from student foreign students coming in, and look, it's an industry now.

"And this is something that when I spoke to migration minister, he was keen to really get a hold on. But he did it in the sense of its abuse of the system, not necessarily just people coming in, it's people abusing that system.

"So as you said last year, 11,000 people claimed asylum in this country who are here on student visas. That's down 30 per cent on the previous year. So it's still that high.

"One in nine asylum claims in this country come from people who are here on student visas. So Mike Tapp told me his this new policy is going to be firm but fair."
