Viral video: Man takes his pet parrot 'Bebe' scuba diving

ALBAWABA - A baby parrot named Bebe has taken the internet by storm after its owner shared a video of it scuba diving in the Bahamas. 

The video posted on Instagram by "bebebirdparrot" garnered over three million views and 500,000 likes, sparking speculation among social media users about whether the stunt was fake or AI-generated. 

An Insatgram user wrote, "No one is saying this is ai. This legit has to be ai. It looks so real but makes no sense. The bird would totally be freaking out. This is really scary."

Another added, "The literal exact opposite place bro is meant to be."

In response, Bebe's owner shared a new video confirming that the footage is real and even showcased the baby parrot's submarine, which made the Bahamas scuba diving adventure possible. 

Bebe's owner said, "So there have been questions about whether the video of Bebe scuba diving last week in the Bahamas is AI-generated or authentic... It is completely authentic."

He referred to the small submarine as the "bebosphere," adding that it was a homemade contraption that had been carefully tested to ensure the baby parrot had a safe scuba diving trip. The small submarine features a food-grade plastic safe container, a 3,000 PSI paintball air cylinder for Bebe to breathe underwater, a needle valve to control the air that goes into the container, and a one-way outflow valve to prevent pressure.

The small submarine was also equipped with an oxygen meter to ensure everything was working properly.

Bebe only went down 3 feet into the water, and the trip lasted around 15 minutes. The owner added how Bebe loves going on adventures, including their occasional bike trips, where he sits on their shoulders as they ride around.
