The Nerazzurri had sorely missed their captain, who had not featured since picking up a calf injury during the Champions League play-off defeat to Bodo/Glimt on February 18.
Lautaro Martinez took just 60 seconds to make his mark at San Siro, getting in front of his marker to meet the Marcus Thuram roll across from the right and smash first-time into the roof of the net from six yards.
This was his 15th Serie A goal in 26 appearances this season, the 19th in 36 competitive matches, along with four assists.
