ALBAWABA - Lebanese authorities said that the country has tightened measures on all borders following intelligence reports of attempts to smuggle members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard into the country.
According to Erem News, citing high-ranking Lebanese security sources, strict security measures and heightened vigilance are in place at air and land border points after information that the Iranian army would send military personnel to Beirut using Lebanese passports bearing the data of deceased individuals and the photographs of their actual holders.
The sources added that Lebanese security and intelligence agencies are participating in these measures, which focus on preventing the arrival of what they described as "human reinforcements" comprising fighters and military technicians.

This comes amid alleged reports of Iranian efforts to bolster its presence in southern Lebanon, particularly around the Ali al-Taher hill. Sources say that intelligence indicates the presence of commanders, combatants, and technical personnel linked to the Iranian military operating at various levels in the region.
According to the source, particular attention is being paid to individuals arriving with Lebanese passports from Iraq and countries in West Africa and South America, based on security information indicating that some of these countries are potential transit points for individuals linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) before their arrival in Lebanon.
