US Envoy Thanks Morocco for ‘Concrete’ Contributions to Gaza Stability at UN
المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsCasablanca – During a debate at the United Nations Security Council on the situation in the Middle East today, the United States thanked several countries, including Morocco, for their “concrete” contributions toward stabilizing the Gaza Strip.
Speaking before the council, US Ambassador Mike Waltz singled out Kazakhstan, Albania, Kosovo, Morocco and Indonesia among countries that have “engaged in favor of stability.” He said these actors are contributing “troops and concrete resources, well beyond simple words,” in reference to efforts linked to Gaza’s next phase.
He added that such engagement could help create conditions for a “withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces from Gaza,” based on “tangible criteria, key steps and precise timelines,” under the supervision of independent international observers.
The comments come as discussions continue at the United Nations over possible arrangements for governance and security in Gaza following months of war. Proposals under consideration include some form of international involvement to support stability, though no agreed framework has been publicly confirmed.
Morocco’s inclusion reflects its continued positioning on the Palestinian issue, combining diplomatic engagement with humanitarian support. Moroccan agencies, including the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, have maintained assistance programs for Palestinian civilians, while Rabat has repeatedly called for a ceasefire and the protection of civilians.
