UK weather maps show snow to hit 16 regions as temperatures plunge to -2C

UK weather maps from WX Charts reveal chilly conditions arriving across the UK next week, with certain areas bracing for snow . The maps utilising MetDesk data predict sub-zero temperatures during the cold spell. The projections suggest that several parts of the UK will experience the white stuff from the early hours of Thursday, May through to the afternoon of Friday, 15 May. The most substantial snowfall looks set to affect Scotland , while some southern counties are also likely to witness some of the white stuff on Friday. Over the two-day period, 16 areas will see dustings of snow, reports the Express . The early morning period will bring most of the flurries. Across Scotland, temperatures will plunge to -2C, while the rest of the UK will see readings between 0C and 6C. In England, West Yorkshire is predicted to see snow on Thursday. On Friday, later on, additional areas across the south, including Devon and Dorset can anticipate some snowfall. Wales is also facing potential snow on the Friday. The outlook indicates that parts of Powys may be affected on high ground during the early hours of next Friday. "This means periods of rain or showers, some of which could be heavy, for many places, though some drier interludes are also expected. "For the most part, temperatures are likely to be close to or perhaps a little below normal, though depending on the position of low pressure relative to the UK, there is the chance of brief warmer, more humid interludes extending north from the near continent. "With this would be the chance of some thunderstorms, these most likely affecting parts of England and Wales."
