Tyjani Beztati Claims First-Round Victory in the LFL Cage
Rabat – Moroccan fighter Tyjani Beztati delivered a commanding performance inside the LFL cage, securing a first-round knockout victory over Brazil’s Diego Gonzaga Regis dos Santos at LFL22 in Antwerp, Belgium, on Saturday night.
The event also featured Morocco’s Ilias Bulaid claiming the interim featherweight title.
The highly anticipated bout saw Beztati dispatch his opponent in just two minutes. As Beztati landed a spectacular knockout, his third consecutive first-round finish since transitioning from kickboxing to mixed martial arts.
Beztati, 35, secured the win by leveraging his elite striking range to keep the fight standing.
He landed some big knees to the head as his opponent attempted to close the distance, resulting in a knockout just two minutes into the opening round.
Beztati finished his kickboxing career with a stellar 27–4 record, including 9 knockouts. As one of the youngest champions in GLORY history, he dominated the lightweight division with four successful title defenses before moving to MMA.
Nicknamed “The Wonderboy”, Tyjani retired from Glory Kickboxing as a five-time Lightweight World Champion in late 2025. Since then, he has maintained a perfect professional MMA record of 3-0.
Santos, known as “Iron Fist,” entered the fight with a record of nine wins and 14 losses in the matchup.
While Santos is recognized for his durability, he was unable to establish his offensive skills before the fight concluded.
This result adds a loss to Santos’s professional standing, as he was unable to bridge the distance against Beztati’s striking.
“I kind of wish it lasted a bit longer, because of course a lot of people came from far to see me, at the end of the day, I’m happy with the win, but I was hoping he would push a bit more.” Beztati said during his post-fight interview.
“I’ve always had a goal for why I do this, but now I have an extra goal, and everything has shifted toward my son. I do everything for him.” He added.
Beztati’s undefeated streak proves his kickboxing skills translate perfectly to MMA. After another dominant win, the Moroccan “Wonderboy” remains a top prospect to watch as he climbs the rankings.
