yapılan yazılı açıklamada, Tunus'taki Asliye Mahkemesi Ceza Dairesi'nin Gannuşi ve Nahda Hareketi yöneticilerinden 3 kişi hakkında verdiği 20'şer yıl hapis cezasına tepki gösterildi. Gannuşi'nin 2023'te yaptığı bir konuşmayla uyuşmayan video kaydına dayalı verilen hapis cezası kararının kınandığı açıklamada, "Raşid Gannuni, söz konusu konuşmasında Tunusluların tümü için bölünme ve dışlamayı reddederek ulusal birlik çağrısı yapmıştı." denildi. Nahda Hareketi lideri ve diğer yöneticileri hakkındaki hapis cezası kararının reddedildiği açıklamada, Gannuşi ve diğer yöneticilere verilen hapis cezası siyasi bir karar olarak nitelendirildi. Birleşmiş Milletler (BM) Keyfi Gözaltı Çalışma Grubu'nun Gannuşi'nin "keyfi" şekilde cezaevinde tutulduğu ve bunun uluslararası hukuku ihlal ettiğini yönündeki kararın anımsatıldığı açıklamada, Gannuşi’nin serbest bırakılması talebinde bulunuldu. Gannuşi’nin avukatlarından oluşan savunma heyetinin açıklamasında da "Siyasi nitelikteki bu karar, hem düşünce ve ifade özgürlüğünü hem de yasal olan siyasi faaliyette bulunma hakkını hedef alan bir adımdır." ifadeleri kullanıldı. Tunus'taki özel radyo Mosaique FM'in haberinde, başkent Tunus'taki Asliye Mahkemesi Ceza Dairesinin, "devlet güvenliğine komplo kurma" suçlamasıyla yargılanan 12 kişi hakkında hapis cezası kararı aldığını aktarılmıştı. Gannuşi'nin yanı sıra Nahda Hareketi yöneticilerinden Yusuf en-Nuri ve Ahmed el-Maşriki 20'şer yıl hapis cezasına çarptırıldığı belirtilen haberde, Nahda yöneticilerinden eski Dışişleri Bakanı Refik Abdusselam'ın da aralarında bulunduğu firari 3 kişi hakkında da 20'şer yıl hapis cezası verildiği kaydedilmişti. Haberde, Nahda Hareketi yöneticilerinden 2 kişinin de aralarında bulunduğu 6 kişinin ise 3'er yıl hapis cezasına çarptırıldığı ifade edilmişti. Tunus'ta "muhalefeti sindirmeyi amaçladığı" iddia edilen ve 11 Şubat 2023'te başlayan gözaltı operasyonlarıyla onlarca siyasetçi, gazeteci, aktivist, hakim ve iş insanı "devlet güvenliğine komplo kurma" suçlamasıyla tutuklanmıştı. Bir toplantıdaki sözleri nedeniyle "halkı iç savaşa yönlendirmek" suçlamasıyla 17 Nisan'da evine baskın yapılarak gözaltına alınan Nahda lideri Gannuşi hakkında da tutuklama kararı verilmişti. Kararın ardından ulusal ve uluslararası tepkiler gelmişti. Tunus Temyiz Mahkemesi, Şubat 2026'da 84 yaşındaki Gannuşi'ye verilen 14 yıllık hapis cezasını 20 yıla çıkarmıştı.
