Trump booed during 'pathetic' UFC entrance as Iran peace talks stall

President Donald Trump was met with boos as he made his entrance at UFC 327 in Miami, as his vice president, JD Vance, announced peace talks with Iran had stalled. It marked the first sporting event the president had attended since the US-Israel conflict with Iran erupted at the end of February - and comes at a time when his approval ratings have plummeted to record lows. Social media users were quick to react to the reception he received. "Trump walking in with Dana White to this empty UFC event is about as pathetic as it gets," wrote one social media user. "Holy s***, Trump getting booed like that at a UFC event is a MASSIVE change to the publics perception of him," another added. A third suggested the president being booed was a sign that "the world is healing. "Donald Trump got booed during his UFC entrance at this Buffalo Wild Wings, the world is healing," they wrote. Ahead of the event, UFC chief executive Dana White confirmed Trump's attendance during a live stream alongside internet personality Adin Ross. "We've got the big guy coming on Saturday, too," White said. "Yeah, he's coming." The president had also been present the last time UFC visited Miami in April 2025, when he was welcomed with a standing ovation and chants of "USA!" Trump attended a UFC 302 event in June 2024 shortly after being found guilty of 34 felony counts of fraud by a New York jury. While the convictions had left Trump in a precarious political position, the reception he received at the event in Newark, N.J., demonstrated that he retained considerable backing amongst ordinary Americans. Trump went on to win the 2024 presidential elections and re-entered the White House in January 2025. It comes as JD Vance announced no agreement has been made with Iran after 21 hours of negotiations, citing their nuclear ambitions as a key blocker for peace. Talks between the US and Iran took place in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, over the weekend, with the vice president leading the US delegation. "The bad news is we have not reached an agreement," Vance told reporters.
