'This illegal alien who assaulted a teenager has no business being in our country,' the DHS post read.  'She is now in (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) custody pending REMOVAL from our nation.' The incident unfolded during Fourth of July celebrations at the tourist hotspot, where the colorful-haired leftist was seen in the footage striking the girl twice before marching away.  Tracey was not arrested at the scene of the alleged slap, but turned herself in days later when investigators say they reviewed surveillance footage and issued a warrant for her arrest. She was then transferred to New Jersey's notorious immigration facility Delaney Hall, where her husband Matthew Geroni, 42, told the Daily Mail she has been languishing in 'horrible' conditions. Geroni also accused police of 'lying' about the confrontation that led to his wife's arrest, and insisted that the teenager and her friends 'provoked' Tracey and 'pushed and shoved her' first. Geroni also claimed that police lied about his wife 'fleeing the scene,' and said she was allowed to leave before learning there was a warrant out for her arrest.  While Tracey was locked up in Delaney Hall, an ICE facility that has been hit with allegations of abuse and inhumane conditions for detainees, the Canadian struggled to cope with her arrest, Geroni told the Daily Mail. In their brief conversation since her detention, he said she is 'very upset.' 'She said when she was brought there, she was left in a room where she had to sleep on a metal bench with all the lights on,' Geroni said, adding that his wife was stuck in the same room for an entire 24 hours shortly after arriving. 'She said the conditions in there are horrible... She was obviously very upset.' Geroni added that most of the other inmates were Spanish-speakers, making it harder for his wife to chat properly with them about her predicament, although he said the other detainees were 'very nice' to her. He maintains that his wife was not the aggressor in the confrontation that led to her arrest, and insisted that she was the one trying to get away from the group of teenagers and avoid them. Geroni said the footage was 'out of context.' Tracey is now facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment and obstruction, and is set to be deported back to Canada. Geroni, who often shares social media posts attacking Republicans, including wishing for Mitch McConnell to die and for the Trump family to get cancer, said he believes Donald Trump is partially to blame for the hostility. 'Trump is emboldening these people. They're proud of their hate, not love,' he said. When asked how he squares this stance with his social media posts about McConnell, Geroni said it was 'not the same,' and answered: 'What are we even talking about here bro?' Just a month before his wife's arrest, Geroni also issued a chilling threat through his TikTok, warning local officials: 'Reminder that, if you work in local government, we know where you live.'  '[I] just think you should understand, the things you do have consequences, and everyone here knows where you live, we also know where you work … hell, we also know where your kids go to school,' he said.   Geroni's social media also shows clips of his wife performing music in a punk rock band. It is unclear what she does for a living. He claimed the fundraiser was pulled down due to it being reported by 'MAGA people,' however GoFundMe policies dictate that fundraisers are not allowed if they are raising money for someone accused of crimes. Geroni said he and his wife love their lives in Ocean Beach, but he would move to Canada if needed. 'I would do anything to be with my wife,' he said.  He said he has struggled to contact his wife and has only spoken to her briefly since she was detained, and she told him that she was one of the only Canadians in the facility.
