Tragic end to adorable boy, 5, who went missing close to his Texas home

Published: 17:21, 20 July 2026 | Updated: 17:25, 20 July 2026 The body of a five-year-old boy has been found in a Texas pond, after he was reported missing on Sunday morning.  Edward Hall, who authorities said was non-verbal and diagnosed with autism, had last been seen July 19 in the 3800 block of Ryans Rock Court in Katy, Texas.   Volunteers with Texas EquuSearch Search & Recovery found Hall deceased around 1.43am Monday in a pond located within the Park at Tamarron. In a call with the Daily Mail, the sheriff's office said the pond does not have protective measures or gating surrounding the water, with 'pretty easy access.' At this time, they could not provide information regarding how Hall went missing other than that his family called around 10.30am Sunday 'after searching the house for him.' An AMBER Alert was issued Sunday evening, requesting anyone with information to call the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.  According to a report by Click2Houston approximately 200 residents helped with the search during the time Hall was missing, utilizing drones, ATVs and other equipment to look for him.  Community members allegedly played music he enjoyed from 'Little Einsteins' and 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' hoping to get his attention during the search. Neighbor Rachel McAdoo told the network that children on the autism spectrum often struggle to recognize danger and can be drawn to the sight and sound of water.  Another local, Natalie Lopez, said, 'we’re not slowing down. We’re checking, rechecking and we’ll continue to check—as long as it takes. We’re looking for our own kid.' Hall's family has been notified according to the sheriff's office, and investigators reported no signs of foul play. However, the investigation remains ongoing. 'Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Edward's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.'
