University of Miami defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. was the driver during a traffic collision in the early hours of March 17, 2024, that resulted in one of the passengers, 22-year-old Destiny Betts, being severely injured, according to court documents obtained by The Athletic.Betts, who was one of four passengers in the 2021 Land Rover, was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the crash report, and died from those injuries nearly three months later, on June 13, 2024.Advertisement
