According to Martin County Sheriff John M. Budensiek, the accident happened around 2:00 p.m. on South Beach Road near Woods' home.

The inquiry indicated that Woods was driving his Land Rover when he attempted to pass the truck in front of him. To avoid a collision, he swerved and hit the trailer's rear before rolling onto its side.

Budensiek said during a press conference that Woods was alone in the vehicle and could depart through the passenger door. He also stated that neither Woods nor the other driver incurred any injuries.

Despite a negative BAC test, Woods displayed evidence of "impaired concentration or emotional state," according to authorities. He declined a urine test, which resulted in two charges: driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) and causing property damage, as well as refusing a legally required examination.

Officials categorized the accusations as misdemeanors rather than felonies, and Bodenczyk stated that Woods appeared "sluggish" at the site of the accident due to his drinking.
