Malone then apologised after pointing the knife at his mum and put it back in the drawer, a court was told.‌Teesside Crown Court heard how Malone attacked his mother on October 15 last year. She was able to get away when Malone released his grip around her neck before seeking help from a relative and calling the police.Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, said that Malone became enraged when his mother refused him a lift to the gym, Teesside Live reports."He put his hands around the woman's throat, telling her, 'I'll strangle you here and now,'" Ms Haigh added. Malone appeared in court on Thursday (April 2) for sentencing after he previously pleaded guilty to threatening to kill his mother; intentional strangulation; and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.‌The first time Malone’s mother called the police was in 2024, Ms Haigh told the court.
