Jenny Han, who wrote the coming-of-age trilogy from which the romantic series was adapted, has returned to write and direct the film.Sharing a statement on her Instagram Story, she said that production have had to stop and clear crowds from shots, which "breaks the crew's focus". "This story means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to you too," she wrote.
