Terror probe after 'attempted arson attack' on Iranian company in London We'll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.NewsChristopher Mallett14:31, 16 Apr 2026Updated 14:44, 16 Apr 2026View ImageThe Met Police have arrested three men after an alleged attempted arson attack on a Persian news organisation (stock)(Image: Getty Images/iStockphoto)A 16-year-old boy and two men have been arrested as part of a counter terrorism investigation into an attempted arson attack at a Persian-language media organisation in London.The Metropolitan Police said officers on patrol in Wembley at around 8.30pm on Wednesday night responded to reports a burning container had been thrown towards a building.The container landed in a car park, where the fire went out, and there were no reports of any damage or injuries.Armed police in the area then pursued a black SUV which the suspects were seen leaving in, before the vehicle later crashed on Ballards Lane, close to the junction with Woodberry Gardens, N12.The boy and both men, aged 19 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life and taken into police custody, the Met said.The force added that the attack is not being treated as a terrorist incident but is still being investigated by counter terrorism police, saying: “At this stage, it is not being linked to the attempted arson in Finchley this week or last month’s arson in Golders Green.”The full statement from the force read: "Three men have been arrested following an attempted arson attack on the offices of a Persian language media organisation in north-west London."At around 20:30hrs on Wednesday, 15 April, officers on proactive patrols in Wembley were made aware that an ignited container had been thrown towards the premises.
