While being trapped in a lift is a nightmare for many, Sir Rod, 81, and company appeared more bored than panicked as they waited to be rescued during the drama last week. Perhaps they were thinking of ways to describe their plight by reimagining some of the star's lyrics – Wake up Prada I think I got something to say to you (for instance). It's the latest in a string of minor setbacks for the singer. In June, he was forced to use an oxygen tank during a concert in West Valley City, Utah, after almost fainting on stage, taking breaths from the apparatus throughout the remainder of the performance. The drama came just a week after he cancelled a concert in California citing health concerns, only to fly by private jet to Boston 24 hours later to watch Scotland take on Haiti in the World Cup. The decision did not sit well with fans who had been expecting to see him perform.
