Sydney school in lockdown after 14-year-old boy is stabbed and rushed to hospital

Emergency services were called to the school on Rowley Road in South Granville about 10.15am on Thursday following reports that a 14-year-old boy had been injured. Police were told that the boy suffered a cut to his abdomen. The teen was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Westmead Children's Hospital in a stable condition. It is understood the incident occurred at Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School.   A second boy, also aged 14, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.  A knife was located at the scene and seized for further examination. 'Police remain on scene working with staff at the school; no further incidents have been reported, and all students are reported to be safe,' a NSW Police statement read. Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School was plunged into lockdown on Thursday after a student was allegedly stabbed 'Officers are now waiting to speak everyone involved as inquiries continue.'
