Suspected remains of Sydney woman found nearly eight years after she vanished without a trace

Nadire Sensoy disappeared from her Prospect home in Sydney's west in December 2018. A reward was later offered and a coronial inquest launched into the 71-year-old's suspected death before it was suspended in 2023 following the arrest of a 47-year-old man. He was later charged with domestic violence-related murder and is yet to face trial. Police will allege the man killed Ms Sensoy in the Blacktown area sometime between December 6 and December 11, 2018. Police said human remains believed to be those of Ms Sensoy were discovered on Thursday and will undergo forensic testing to confirm their identity. Investigations are continuing.
