A Somali man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing at a migrant hotel.
Surrey Police were called to the hotel after receiving reports of a stabbing at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday at the Stanwell Hotel.
The premises are near Heathrow Airport and have served as asylum seeker accommodation since 2022.
The individual who was stabbed sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
The force confirmed that no further suspects are being sought in relation to the incident and called on members of the public to refrain from speculation.
A substantial deployment of emergency services descended on the area surrounding the Town Lane premises.
Prior to the arrest being confirmed, officers acknowledged they were dealing with an ongoing situation at the hotel.
In a statement released just before 7.30pm, the force said: "We understand that any significant emergency services presence is likely to cause concern locally and want to reassure you that we are dealing with this incident."
Police indicated that additional information would be shared as it became available.
The government began housing asylum seekers and their families at the Stanwell Hotel in 2022, when the premises stopped accepting public guests following a Home Office decision to repurpose the building for migrant accommodation.
Proposals have now been put forward to restore the hotel to its original function, catering to business and leisure travellers, including those using Heathrow Airport.
The redevelopment plans for the Town Lane site envisage a significant expansion, nearly doubling capacity from 56 rooms to 96 through a roof extension and a new single-storey addition alongside a comprehensive modernisation programme.

Should Spelthorne Borough Council grant approval, current asylum seeker residents would be required to vacate the premises.
Developers behind the conversion scheme described the proposed improvements as a means to "modernise the hotel and secure its future as part of the village economy."
The Home Office has committed to phasing out the use of hotels as accommodation for those seeking asylum, with work ongoing to identify alternative arrangements.
However, the hotel's role in housing migrants has come under scrutiny.
Earlier this year, a former member of staff at the Stanwell Hotel alleged that the arrangement had left certain local residents feeling too frightened to walk the streets unaccompanied.
