Snooker’s ultimate rich list with new champion Wu Yize only just inside wealthiest top 50

New world champion Wu Yize is not among the leading names in snooker's all-time prize money list. The 22-year-old triumphed over Shaun Murphy in the recent World Snooker Championship final and received £500,000 for his efforts . Wu produced a dramatic 18-17 win at the Crucible to claim the sport's most prestigious prize. However, the rising star remains 47th in the all-time rich list, while two household names fail to crack the top five. Snooker icons Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis won a combined 13 world titles during their careers, but neither occupies a top-five place . Davis reigned supreme at the Crucible during the 1980s, winning six world championships, and ended his career with 28 ranking titles. The 68-year-old hung up his cue in 2016, with CueTracker recording his total prize money at £5.6million, putting him 10th on the all-time list, four spots beneath Hendry. 'The Rocket', who has won 41 ranking events, has collected £15.1m in prize money, which is £4m ahead of his closest challenger. Despite O'Sullivan topping the rich list, numerous other players have built substantial fortunes through the sport. Fellow Class of '92 legend John Higgins occupies second spot as the 50-year-old has gathered a substantial £11.1m in prize money. Current world No.1 Judd Trump sits in fourth position with £10m, putting him ahead of four-time world champion Mark Selby, who has accumulated £9.2m in prize money. Mark Williams ensures all three members of the legendary Class of '92 feature in the top five after amassing £9m throughout his career. While Hendry comes up marginally short of Williams' figure, his prize money haul places him in front of Neil Robertson, who has banked £8.2m. Meanwhile, recent world championship runner-up Shaun Murphy occupies eighth spot with £7.1m followed by Mark Allen's £6.1m in prize money. Outside of the top 10, notable names include 2024 world champion Kyren Wilson in 12th with £5.2m, followed by snooker icon Jimmy White on £4.9m. Ali Carter (16th, £4m), Ken Doherty (17th, £3.8m) and Peter Ebdon (19th, £3.6m) also rank within the top 20. The 2025 World Snooker Championship winner Zhao Xintong is 28th with £2.3m. Chinese star Wu's recent winnings have propelled him up to 47th on the list, narrowly above Dennis Taylor, with his career earnings now standing at £1.4m.
