Parvez Ahmed Rahman, 33, has been charged with attempted murder and failing to stop while a man in his 50s fights for his life in hospital.  CCTV footage allegedly shows the moment the suspect smashes into the cyclist on a residential street in east London at 11.15pm on Thursday. The driver appears to plough into the victim at speed before several witnesses rush over on Aylward Street in Stepney Green. The cyclist was raced to hospital with life-threatening injuries after paramedics treated him as a 'priority' before racing the man to a major trauma centre.   Rahman was initially arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road incident and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs. He has since been charged with attempted murder and failing to stop but not with being unfit to drive through drink or drugs. He remains in hospital while the driver has been charged with attempted murder A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'Police were called at around 23:15hrs on Thursday, 6 August to reports of a collision involving a car and cyclist on Aylward Street, Stepney Green. 'Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service. The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. 'Parvez Ahmed Rahman, 33 (23.04.93), of Russia Lane, Tower Hamlets, was charged on Friday, 7 August with attempted murder and failing to stop after a road incident. 'Rahman appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court on Saturday, 8 August. He has been remanded and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 4 September.' A spokesman previously said: 'The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries. 'The driver of the car, a 33-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.' The force has appealed to anyone with information to contact police on 101 quoting 8767/06AUG. A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: 'We were called at 11:16pm Thursday 6 August to reports of a road traffic collision on Aylward Street, E1. 'We sent ambulance crews and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London's Air Ambulance.
