Sheikh Mohammed announces Dh34 billion Dubai Metro Gold Line project

Sheikh Mohammed on Wednesday, April 22 announced the expansion of Dubai Metro with a new line.

The new “Gold Line” will span 42 kilometres, reaching depths of up to 40 metres underground, and will pass through 15 strategic areas across the emirate. The project is expected to significantly enhance mobility across Dubai’s rapidly growing urban and residential corridors.

In a social media announcement he wrote: We are pleased to announce the largest transportation project in Dubai: a new 42-kilometre metro line. It will pass through 15 key strategic areas across the city, serve approximately 1.5 million residents, and strengthen connectivity to 55 major real estate developments currently under construction.

The Gold Line project will cost Dh34 billion. It will increase the length of the Dubai Metro network by 25%, and is scheduled for completion on 9/9/2032.
