School plunges into lockdown with pupils 'hiding under desks' as police race to scene

A school in Gorton, Greater Manchester is in lockdown after a serious incident this morning.

Students at Cedar Mount Academy are being advised to stay in their classrooms whilst the school plunged into lockdown.

The authorities are at the school, located on Wembley Road with eyewitnesses reporting alarms are going off throughout the premises.
