eski Sovyetler Birliği'nin 2. Dünya Savaşı'nda Nazi Almanyası'nı mağlup etmesinin kutlandığı Zafer Günü vesilesiyle ilan edilen geçici ateşkesin 8 Mayıs saat 00.00'da başladığı anımsatıldı. Rus ordusunun ateşkese uyduğu ve bulundukları pozisyonlarda kaldıkları ifade edilen açıklamada, şunlar kaydedildi: "Ukrayna'nın silahlı grupları, ateşkese rağmen insansız hava araçları (İHA) ve topçuları kullanarak birliklerimizin pozisyonlarına ve sivil unsurlara saldırılar düzenledi. Ateşkes süresince Ukrayna ordusu, topçu, çok namlulu roketatar, havan topları ve tanklar ile birliklerimizin mevzilerine 1173, İHA'lar ile de 7 bin 151 saldırı düzenledi. Özel askeri operasyon bölgesinde toplam 8 bin 970 ateşkes ihlali kaydedildi." Rus birliklerinin, çok namlulu roketatar, topçu ve havan toplarıyla saldırı düzenleyerek, ateşkes ihlallerine karşılık verdiği aktarılan açıklamada, bu saldırılar esnasında İHA yönetim ve kullanma merkezlerinin vurulduğu belirtildi. Rusya Devlet Başkanı Vladimir Putin, daha önce Zafer Günü vesilesiyle 8-9 Mayıs’ta Ukrayna’da ateşkes ilan etme kararı almıştı.
