Russian foreign trade not declining since 2022, despite sanctions
ST. PETERSBURG, April 2. /TASS/. The West had a target of isolating Russia from the global economy but the foreign trade volumes of our country did not decline since 2022 but even increased in some areas, Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin said at the International Transport and Logistical Forum. "Everyone knows pretty well that the goal of Western countries in respect of Russia in early 2022, at the end of the first quarter, was to disengage Russia from the global economy. Not to allow making payments, not to allow trading and thereby inflict damage to our country. However, the result became different," Oreshkin said. "If we look at the foreign trade volumes chart, our foreign trade volumes did not drop since 2022. They even somewhat increased," the official said. The geography and currency of payments changed over that period. The value of Global South currencies in supporting trade will continue growing, Oreshkin added.المصدر: TASS | Source: TASS
