Russia is 'preparing to attack NATO' after Ukraine

ALBAWABA - The Dutch military intelligence agency reported that Moscow could be ready to launch an attack on NATO.

According to the Netherlands Military Intelligence and Security Service's (MIVD) annual report, Russia will be ready to attack NATO countries within a year of the war in Ukraine ending.

The Netherlands Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) warned by saying that Russia could rebuild enough combat power within 12 months of hostilities ending in Ukraine.

Any future Russian attack on NATO could aim to sow division inside the alliance, the MIVD said.

"Russia poses the greatest and most direct threat to peace and stability in Europe, and thus to our national security and our interests," said Vice Admiral Peter Reesink, the spy agency's director.

The agency expressed concerns that Russia could focus on limited territorial gains and pressure tactics designed to expose divisions between allies. The Dutch military intelligence agency suggested this could even include the threat of using nuclear weapons.

Furthermore, the report estimated that Russia has suffered approximately 1.2 million casualties in Ukraine since 2022, including over 500,000 deaths.
