The Portuguese coach focused on identifying the right personalities in the transfer window, providing a blueprint for his permanent successor to follow. ‌ Michael Carrick has taken the reins at Old Trafford since Amorim’s departure in January. The interim boss has won 10 of his 14 matches in charge, leading to clamour for him to be given the role permanently. ‌ The manager’s job is just one of several key decisions that the club must make this summer. United have secured their place in next season’s Champions League and will need to sign several players who can help the team compete on multiple fronts. ‌ Last summer, United focused on improving their attacking options, bringing in the trio of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, as well as new goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
