أعرب وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرجي لافروف عن استعداد موسكو للوساطة في الأزمة بالشرق الأوسط، مشيراً إلى أن الخيار الوحيد لإنهاء التصعيد هو الحل الدبلوماسي. وأوضحت ديالا الخليلي، مراسلة الشرق من موسكو، أن روسيا ترى أن التفاوض هو الحل الأفضل بعيداً عن الأفعال العسكرية، وهي تراقب بقلق التصريحات المتناقضة بين واشنطن وطهران بشأن المفاوضات.
