Reds beat Tigers on Nathaniel Lowe's walk-off homer after extended rain delay
CINCINNATI — With heavy rain falling Friday during the sixth inning of the Cincinnati Reds’ game against the Detroit Tigers, home plate umpire Erich Bacchus seemed to be doing his best to allow the inning to end with the third out. With two outs and a full count, the Reds’ No. 9 hitter, Ke’Bryan Hayes, fouled off the sixth pitch he saw from Kyle Finnegan to keep the inning, and perhaps the game, alive for another pitch. Hayes, through a sheet of rain, watched strike three, and the Great American Ball Park grounds crew rushed to get the tarp over the field.Advertisementالمصدر: The Athletic | Source: The Athletic
