The law sets out a clear regulatory framework to reduce the risks of infectious diseases in public health establishments; it governs health monitoring procedures, medical testing and periodic inspections, in an effort to support safe working environments and safeguard public health. Furthermore, the new legislation designates the Public Health and Safety Department at Ras Al Khaimah Municipality as the body responsible for implementing the law and grants it regulatory and supervisory powers, including issuing occupational health fitness certificates, monitoring compliance with preventive measures and taking necessary actions in accordance with approved regulations.
