But a source close to the White House has now told the Daily Mail that the President will 'tolerate' the Labour leader for now because he believes he will not be the last Prime Minister of his presidency. Concerns were raised about potential frictions between Mr Burnham and the Trump administration - particularly over Ed Miliband being appointed Foreign Secretary. Senior figures in Trump's circle, such as Vice President JD Vance, have intervened in British politics in recent years - particularly on immigration and free speech. But Mr Trump is said to remain outwardly positive about his new counterpart and is committed to maintaining a warm relationship with the UK. The source said: 'The thinking in the White House is this Labour government will eventually implode, there'll be a UK General Election and Nigel Farage might be the next Prime Minister.'
