Politician kicked out from the Tories for 'sending lewd photo' has been given new job with Reform

A leaked email revealed that Nigel Farage’s party has now given Essex county councillor Jaymey McIvor ‘a new role supporting the management of our parliamentary candidates’. Reform said he would not be vetting potential MPs. Sources suggested he could be involved only in proposing which seats individual candidates would fight. But Tory Party chairman Kevin Hollinrake said any involvement of Mr McIvor ‘makes a mockery of any Reform pledges to properly vet its would-be MPs’.  Mr McIvor was a Tory parliamentary candidate until shortly before the 2024 election, when the Tories announced he had been suspended. In October that year, the party announced it had expelled Mr McIvor following a disciplinary hearing.  A leaked email revealed that Nigel Farage’s party has now given Essex county councillor Jaymey McIvor (pictured at the Clacton by-election)  ‘a new role supporting the management of our parliamentary candidates’ Details of the complaint emerged two months later at a public council meeting. Labour councillor Aidan McGurran challenged Mr McIvor on his expulsion, saying: ‘The reason is you sent an unsolicited picture of your private parts, which is a criminal offence.’ Mr McIvor has denied the claims against him and insists he chose to leave the Tories. Reform sources said the Tories had yet to produce any evidence against Mr McIvor.  A spokesman added the Conservatives ‘have zero credibility to lecture anyone’ after hiring a former neo-Nazi as an anti-extremism advisor.
