DENVER – Paul DePodesta arrived at Harvard in 1991 as a baseball recruit — expected to play a little shortstop and center field, maybe even pitch — but he couldn’t stop watching the football team. DePodesta, who also had played football at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va., sized up the Crimson for a season and couldn’t shake an idea.
